چکیده

The reduction in shelf-life and nutritional value of cauliflower florets are the most vital problems during cold storage. This research was performed to explore impact pre-harvest foliar implementation proline (PR), methionine (MT), melatonin (ML), at a rate 25 mg.L−1, on active composites (cv. ‘Arasya’) stored 10 °C for 14 d. obtained results exhibited that from treated plants with PR, MT, ML were lower water loss, electrolyte leakage, browning index, titratable acidity (TA) compared untreated plants, end Furthermore, these treatments significantly slow down loss total sugar content, reducing sugar, soluble solid (TSS), glucosinolates concentration (Gly), phenols (TP), vitamin C (VC), antioxidant activity (DPPH) than control samples. After days storage, application improved levels phenylalanine ammonia-lyase (PAL), catalase (CAT) as well declined polyphenol oxidase (PPO), peroxidase (POD) activates Therefore, might be promising substances keep quality forests reduce index

effect of pre-harvest application of polyamines on quality and shelf life of kiwifruit cv. hayward

softening and microbial activity are the most common problems of kiwifruit during storage. in order to improve these problems, pre- harvest treatments of putrescine and spermidine were studied on shelf life of kiwifruit cv. hayward. foliar spraying of different concentrations of purescine (0, 1 and 2 mm) and spermidine (0, 1 and 2 mm) has been done at 40 and 20 days before harvest. different ch...

Hot air treatment delays senescence and maintains quality of fresh-cut broccoli florets during refrigerated storage

A postharvest treatment with hot air (48 C during 3 h) was applied to fresh-cut broccoli to investigate its effect on quality and senescence during storage at 0 C. The treatment delayed yellowing as evidenced by lower decrease of Hue values during storage. After 21 days of storage, treated broccoli had chlorophyll content approximately 40% higher than controls. The treatment did not affect eith...
